Fees and Breeding Information - Please read carefully and completely

     The breeding fee for Brandenburg 's Windstar is $1,250.00.  Payment must be received with a completed contract before any semen will be shipped.  Additionally, there is a $200.00 refundable deposit on the shipping container, which also must be received before semen is shipped.  Please send this deposit with your breeding fee and contract.  All fees are made payable to: "WINDCHASE".

     This contract has a live foal guarantee.  If this breeding fails to produce a live foal (a foal that does not stand and nurse within 24 hours), then a return breeding will be honored.  If your mare was confirmed in foal, your veterinarian will need to send us a statement explaining the circumstances of the loss.  This is a return privilege contract; breeding fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
     This contract is not transferable.  It is valid for a period of three years (the year the contract is signed and accepted, and two subsequent calendar years), and becomes null and void after the third year.  In the event that the mare becomes unfit for breeding, substitution of another mare is negotiable if we receive a statement from your veterinarian concerning reasons of infertility.  We recommend that you take all necessary steps to insure that it is possible to breed your mare before entering this contract.
     The breeding fee includes the stallion fee and all charges associated with the shipping and handling of the first semen collection.  Any additional semen shipment will require a $175 collection fee per shipment ($125 if you pick it up).  Collection fees are due upon receipt of each shipment. 
     The container deposit will be refunded upon request when you notify us that either your mare is in foal or that you will not be requesting more semen shipments, all containers have been returned to Windchase, and all outstanding collection fees or expenses have been paid.

     To order semen, please call Windchase’s barn number, 540/668-6024, and ask for Phyllis, Jineen or Melissa.  You must contact us no later than 10:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, for next day shipments.  Ideally, if you give us a heads up a few days before you anticipate needing semen, it makes our scheduling much easier and allows us to better accommodate our clients.  However, we MUST know for sure by 10:00 a.m. the morning before you need semen, in order to meet the shipping deadlines.  E-mail is fine for regular correspondence, but to order semen shipments, you MUST PHONE!

WE DO NOT SHIP OR COLLECT ON SATURDAYS OR SUNDAYS!
     Collection days are Monday through Friday.  We do not collect on Saturdays and Sundays, as it is not possible to ship overnight on the weekends, so try to plan your mare’s breeding schedule accordingly.  If you must have semen on a weekend and can pick it up, we will make an effort to accommodate if possible.
     Please notify us once your mare is confirmed in foal, and we will send you the certificate of cover.  When she foals, let us know, for our records.  If your mare is not in foal at the end of the breeding season and you plan to rebreed the following year, please inform us as soon as possible. 

     We are not responsible or liable for any lost shipments by any courier service or airline. We may, however, replace any lost shipment for the next cycle with no additional collection fee, depending on the circumstances.  All shipping, handling, and collection fees are non-refundable.   
     All shipping containers must be returned immediately after use.   If containers are not returned to Windchase within five days of receipt, there will be a $100 late fee - we recommend using an overnight courier service.
